Behati Prinsloo, how did you begin your career?
I was scouted in a grocery shop with my granny in Cape Town.
Who is your favourite photographer to work with?
There is not one I can pick out. Everyone I’ve worked with is cool and fun in their own way.
What has been your favourite campaign to shoot?
Nine West, Lacoste and DKNY.
Where do you call home?
Right now New York, but Namibia will always be my home.
What do you always carry when you travel?
My iPod, a pair of warm socks, a Sudoku book, my hoodie, and loads of munchies.
What beauty products are must-haves?
A good face cream especially in the winter when your body gets so dry. I hate that.
Describe your personal style...
Boyish, hippie, rock, casual, fun – it depends on how I feel that day.

Who are your style icons?
When it comes down to it definitely Boy George.
How do you pass the time when you’re waiting around on set?
[Laughs] Do nothing, call friends, sit on the computer, stuff like that.
What’s currently playing on your iPod?
Eagles of Death Metal, Nirvana, Pearl Jam and Metallica.
What music do you like to have playing when you work?
Rock music. Anything as long as it’s upbeat.
Which show is the most fun to be a part of each season?
Chanel by far.
What is the best thing a designer has ever given you – any great backstage gifts?
Bags and shoes I guess.
Any special purchases recently?
A house [laughs].

If you weren’t modelling, where would you like to be?
A marine biologist and living in Hawaii.

How do you keep trim and fit?
I do pilates and just eat healthy and I love to be in the ocean.
So what next, what are you excited about that is coming up?
Moving into my new place, going home for Christmas, and eating my mum’s cooked food.
