From Chanel to Vuitton this season the skin was all about gleaming luminescence. Derek Lam SS 12 at NYFW bloomed with an iridescent glow that only the rising temperature could provoke. RUSSH spoke with Estee Lauder’s Jahi Ireland on how to get a fresh start this summer.

1. Prepare skin with moisturiser and then apply foundation with a foundation brush to even out skin tone and create the perfect base. Remember, the best way to apply foundation is the Signature Flower Technique; apply product to cheeks, nose, chin and forehead and blend out.

2. Give your skin a fresh, sun-kissed glow with a soft shimmer bronzer. Sweep the powder bronzer over each cheek and through the t-zone. Finish by adding a soft hint of colour to cheeks.

3. To draw focus to the eyes, apply a small amount of eyeshadow with a blending brush and sweep over entire eyelid.

4. Draw definition to the brows and make this the focus point of the makeup. Using an eyeliner or brow brush and a matte eyeshadow, feather the product into brows and build intensity.

5. Define lashes with one coat of mascara only. Finalise the eye makeup by using an eye pencil to softly smudge onto bottom lashes. Try an eye pencil in coffee.

6. Complete the look with nude gloss. I like Pure Colour Gloss in the shade Nude Rose.
