Long live the king. Salasai AW 12 at NZFW marked a return to the dark ages. Models besieged the runway brave of heart and fierce in face. RUSSH spoke with Stephen Marr’s Lauren Gunn and Jason Chong-Li on how to achieve this medieval up 'do.

1. Spray your hair through and through with Sebastian Reshaper hairspray and blowdry it flat to a centre part. Separate a section at the crown and a section at the nape and clip them out of the way.

2. Draw the rest of the hair to the back and tie it into a ponytail, then make a little loop with the ponytail using a clear elastic, leaving the ends to fall free.

3. Take the hair from the crown and nape sections and let them fall too. For a final touch: pin the loose hair into shape over the loop of the ponytail and fix it there with a killer dose of Sebastian Shaper Fierce hairspray.
