A Night in the Museum
What do you get when you throw a handful of musicians into a museum and screen a 1960 cult horror film? MUSECOLOGY is the safest answer we could come up and the ingenious concept from Daniel Stricker (Midnight Juggernauts) and Jack Jeweller (Black and Blue Gallery) that will no doubt lend a completely new and rewarding experience as each medium has a collaborative affect on the other.
“There's so many great spaces (and communities) in this city that we've forgotten about or that get pushed away - we're super excited (also as a musician myself) about working with/responding to these amazing spaces - like an ice rink (!!) - me and a friend broke into one a couple years back and skated around all night - imagine being able to do that with bands playing,” says Daniel Stricker of his project.
The show itself is pretty special. Musicians including Naked on the Vague and Stricker (with Chris Ross formally Wolfmother) have composed an experimental score, each the soundtrack to a set of ‘psychosis-sequences’ from the Warner Bros 60s 3D classic The Eyes of Hell. “Put the mask on” the audience will be commanded, and once on … Well, that would be telling.
Stay tuned for the next event which is at ... You guessed it, an ice rink.Musecology is Friday 9th March, 8.30pm at Macleay University. Enter via Gosper Lane off Science Road. Tickets are only $10 on the door.
