The Clan

Kirsha Whitcher – in Salasai’s AW 12 effort – made clothes for girls who drink their whisky neat, wear highland tartan, and whose veins course with blue blood.
“I was going down this really old historic, English, Anglo-Saxon thing," Whitcher told me when we were on her home turf. “I wanted the collection be regal and royal, and have this kind of status about it in a beautiful manner rather than a tough one.”
She took her two tartan colourways (and more) to the first night at New Zealand Fashion Week, kitting out Auckland's St Matthew's church to walk her wares. Now, she shares these shots from behind the scenes.
