Cue Dion

Dion Lee's collection for Cue hits stores today and we can confidently tell you that it's one of the most impressive collaborations we've seen in Australia so far. Lee is now on his way to Paris: on-the-run, he spoke to RUSSH.
The Cue collection is the chance for everyone to own a piece of Dion Lee. What are your favourite pieces?
All of the jackets, especially the outerwear pieces such as the parka and trench.
What piece may go unnoticed but is actually wardrobe staple?
We did some knitwear and T-shirt styles that are perfect to layer the collection. Also, shirting is always a favourite for me personally. I like mixing the formal elements of shirting back with something more casual.
What was the biggest challenge you faced designing for the high street?
I don't think I approached the collection as high street. We didn't want to compromise any element of the process, so I think it is just much more a daywear approach than that of my own collections.
The biggest reward?
It is great to introduce the brand to those who may have not been previously seen the collection or tried any of the pieces on.
You’re off to Paris to show your latest collection; what are you most looking forward to on this trip?
The start of the trip is sales, however I am looking forward to having some time out of the studio to develop my ideas for my spring/summer collection in May. As soon as I get back it will be straight into pattern making. Also looking forward to catching up with some friends while I am away.
What will you bring back?
Travel pics for RUSSH and some shopping for me!
