Italian actress Monica Vitti steals the screen in her Antonioni-directed film trilogy, L’Avventura, L’Eclisse and La Notte. The actress made moves towards international stardom with her only English-speaking role in 1966’s Modesty Blaise, a James Bond spoof. While it didn’t garner favourable reviews, it has since become a camp classic. Now 77, Vitti has retired from the screen, working occasionally in theatre as a teacher and actress.
